Ahh misunderstandings

Had a presentation yesterday, we had 4 topics to pick from to talk about and we picked Grid Computing Applications, but when we finished our presentation the lecturer said that we had completely misunderstood what we were supposed to be talking about, and that if we were being assessed on talking about the topic we would have failed, but because we aren’t being assessed on that we hadn’t failed. We were being assessed on our ability to extend the content of the lecturer, the research we did and such. So where was the misunderstanding? Well we were supposed to talk about Applications of Grid computing, we talked about Grid Applications. Confused? One is how Grid is used to solve problems in the real world and the other is the components (applications) that the gird uses to work. Ah well. At least we haven’t failed. 🙂
